What's happening at the Beeching Road Studios?

About Beeching Road Studios

The Beeching Road Studios are there to support the growth of creative businesses in Bexhill and to develop an ecology that allows new and emerging artists to work alongside established creative practices, educational establishments and cultural organisations all within one studio network.

Opening Hours: Open to the public Fri – Sat 10 am - 3 pm (Visits can also be arranged by appointment)

STUDIO DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME April 2024 – March 2025

Who is it for?

  • 4 East Sussex based artists who are in the first 15 years of their career.

  • Artists who want to work within a supportive environment for one year to test out new ideas and

    engage with UK-based curators and gallerists.

  • Artists who have experienced barriers in progressing their career.

 

What’s on offer?

  • Up to 5 images (max. 1MB per file or 1 PDF file up to 5 pages in length) or up to two moving image or sound files on a YouTube/Vimeo link (5 min length max each).

  • CV (one PDF, max. two pages). Please ensure this includes your name, address, email address, phone number (optional), website (optional) and preferred pronouns. You are welcome to include an artist statement in this document.

  • Completed equalities monitoring form.

  • Applications made in video or audio format are welcomed and should be sent to the same email

    address noted below.

    • A 50% subsidised studio at Beeching Road Studios (£125 per month plus VAT)

    • Mentoring with Flatland Projects Director, Ben Urban and DLWP Head of Exhibitions, Joseph

      Constable

    • Studio visits organised with UK-based curators and gallerists.

    • Support to produce a studio-based project with an identified community group in Bexhill-on-Sea.

    • Opportunities to participate in artist development workshops delivered by Flatland Projects.
